Education Perfect is seeking aSenior Editorto join our Science Alive M?tauranga Team, a collaboration between Education Perfect and the Science Alive Charitable Trust. We design innovative cross-curricular STEAM-focused lessons intertwined with M?tauranga M?ori, including Te Ao and Te Reo M?ori available to all schools within Aotearoa New Zealand. Ideally located in either ?tepoti Dunedin or ?tautahi Christchurch, this is a full-time fixed-term position until the end of 2022 which, dependent on funding, could be extended until the end of 2023.
As a Senior Editor most of your day will be spent planning and designing content for the Science Alive M?tauranga kaupapa for the EP platform and print materials as well as supporting the team to do their best work. You will lead planning and project management of Science Alive M?tauranga initiatives alongside the project lead related to the delivery of new content to the EP platform. while ensuring that the Science Alive M?tauranga team meets design, pedagogy and accessibility standards in conjunction with Te K?hui Whakaniko (Design & Quality) and the project lead.
Responsibilities include:
   » Onboarding, training and continuing support of editors and external partners
   » superviseing & collaborating within a cross-functional team to write, edit and enhance educational content for use in our software
   » Creating supporting material and media such as images, audio, video and simulations
   » Applying trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design and share these across a cross-functional team
   » Meeting quality and effectiveness targets in all tasks
   » Monitoring and reporting on the progress of projects
   » Maintaining project documentation and content libraries
   » Collaborating with other Senior Writers and Senior Editors to ensure that best practice for content & project management is shared and documented
   » Development of team expertise and driving positive team culture
What we’re looking for:
   » An practiced writer, being able to adapt your writing style to different audiences with a passion for educational content. An instructional design background would be beneficial.
   » Good expertise of the Adobe Suite, in particular Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Media Encoder, Premiere and After Effects
   » Basic Te Reo expertise and expertise of M?tauranga M?ori, keen to lgain more
   » Researching expertise, comfortable at reaching out to experts and translating complex information for a younger audience (9-13 year olds)
   » capability to facilitate interactive team workshops and retrospectives, creating an inclusive environment where everyone can lgain from each other.
   » Organisational expertise and project management practice, with a knack for tidy spreadsheets and project management software like Monday.com
   » Technologically savvy, works with Google Drive every day and can troubleshoot common tech issues, well versed in the digital world.
   » Having a science/science communication background would be beneficial as would knowing your way around a camera, capability to film shake-free video and snap nice photos
