About our group and team The Educational Measurement and Assessment team is tasked with developing new school entry assessment tools to support teachers to notice, recognise and respond to the strengths and needs of children as they enter school. The project has two more years to develop a set of digital tools and has already made tremendous progress so far. You will be joining a fun and committed team who are about making a difference for our tamariki. Our team sits in the Evidence Data and Knowledge group of the Ministry where much of our research, evaluation, data and reporting is located. About this function The Project Coordinator will work with the Project Manager and team to ensure the delivery of the administrative and governance requirements of the Ministry in relation to project methodology, reporting and financial management. This includes working across the team to monitor progress and delivery, provide advice on the alignment of work projects, manage system tools, provide ‘hands on’ project support. About you The ideal person for this function is a finisher. Someone who is organised and a connector within a team. You will work under a senior project manager to support the administration and organisation of project workstreams. You could be doing anything from booking travel and organising a hui for teachers and principals in our reference group, to taking minutes in a governance meeting, to monitoring and forecasting project finances. You will also offer the following: » Evidence of high performance in work and other pursuits (eg, sport, music, hobbies, side hustle) » practice working on a large project, preferably a prosperous one » practice and/or qualifications in project management methodolgy » the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga You may have aspiration to develop yourself for a future function as a project manager or simply love seeing projects deliver on their promises.
