About our group and team The Educational Measurement and Assessment team is tasked with developing new school entry kete to support teachers to notice, recognise and respond to the strengths and needs of children as they enter school. The project has two more years to develop a set of digital tools and has already made tremendous progress so far. You will be joining a fun and committed team who are about making a difference for our tamariki. Our team sits in the Evidence Data and Knowledge group of the Ministry where much of our research, evaluation, data and reporting is located. About this function The Senior Advisor – Engagement will work with the School Entry Kete project team to provide external and internal engagement across the primary schooling sector and within the ministry with specific account management/portfolio responsibilities. Engagement support may include developing communication plans; website and intranet content, social media content, proactive media content, media responses, reviewing and creation of stakeholder engagement materials; developing practice and processes. senior leadership abilities communications, issues resolution, and ministerial correspondence. About you You are a proficient senior communications and engagement professional with practice working on large, multi-year projects. You know how to work under pressure, develop strong connections and make a project prosperous. You will be comfortable taking the lead with the strategy and execution of our engagement and communication plans. Your tenacity and positivity will be a strength both for the project and the project team to rely on. You will also offer the following: » Evidence of high performance in previous work and other pursuits (e.g. sport, music, hobbies, side hustle) » A strong network with other communications and engagement professionals in government and the education sector » the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga » The capability to mentor others developing their engagement and communication expertise Are you ready to make a difference?
