This places AUT students at the forefront of much of the ground-breaking research undertaken in New Zealand. We are engaged with primary, secondary and tertiary health provision including M?ori and Pacific health providers, researchers and community-located initiatives. Many of the people working in our School of Clinical Sciences are practising health professionals and work in the services we are engaged with, and sit on Ministry of Health and other National Health boards. Our Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences is moving towards a Te Tiriti honouring framework so we can make a difference to health results for M?ori and Pacific whanau and communities, and ensure a culturally safe and appropriate place to work and flourish. The function This is a great permanent, full-time opportunity to become a Lecturer and develop your career in teaching, research and service, whilst having the support ofEke Tangaroa – AUT’s M?ori and Pacific Early Career Academic Programme. The prosperous appointee will be located at our City Campus and ideally be able to commence their new function 28 June 2021 (in time for the start of Semester Two – 12 July). OurSchool of Clinical Sciencesis seeking a M?ori or Pacific PhD/Doctorate scholar with skills within any of the following discipline areas: Midwifery,Nursing,Occupational Therapy,Oral Health,Paramedicine,Psychotherapy,Psychology,PhysiotherapyorPodiatry. All are located at our North Campus, with the exceptions of Midwifery and Paramedicine (which are located at our South Campus). Lecturers teach across programmes as agreed with the significant Head of Department; we embrace practice-led, as well as research-informed, approaches to teaching where the student practice is optimised. You will also publish actively in your specialised field – research is well supported within the School. Over time you’ll also seek external research funding, engage with government, business, the professions and/or the community, and contribute to School/Faculty activities. You’ll join an open and highly collaborative group that supports the growth of its people. Our research environment is innovative, methodologically sound and flexible with Kaupapa M?ori and talanoa ways of doing research. There is a wide variety of skills with people willing to share what they have learnt, and staff are well supported in all research processes. Our School is well networked across universities, faculties, schools and community and government. Key criteriaas follows: Qualification/practice: » A PhD/Doctorate (PhD/Doctoral graduation must have been within 3 years of application to this programme. (Alternatively, current PhD/Doctoral students will have submitted their completed thesis for examination before starting their function). » A background in any of the following disciplines: Midwifery, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Oral Health, Paramedicine, Psychotherapy, Psychology, Physiotherapy or Podiatry. Research and Teaching Interests: » Within any significant discipline or specialisation, we welcome a wide variety of interests Previous academic employment: » This must be your first full-time, permanent academic position in either a university or other tertiary education provider. You must also have no more than 5 years fixed-term contract academic practice (in total) in a university or other tertiary education provider. Start Date: You will ideally start by 28 June 2021.
