   » Permanent position located in Wellington
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in community-located services for people with disabilities and their families. The overall purpose of the position is to manage the contracts and relationships with organisations contracted to provide services under the Intellectual Discapability (Compulsory Care and Rehabilitation) Act 2003. The nature of these services means the prosperous candidate will need to have broad practice in contracting of services.
As a Portfolio Manager you will do the following:
   » Negotiate and manage a portfolio of service contracts within the Ministry’s purchasing and pricing frameworks and nationwide service framework in order to ensure consumer-focused services
   » Manage the implementation and roll out of service improvements within the portfolio, including a key consultation function with the sector
   » Establish and maintain effective provider and service user relationships
   » Work with the Quality team to ensure the quality and effectiveness of services provided is monitored and maintained
We are seeking for an energetic and enthusiastic person with a positive attitude who can demonstrate and implement innovative ideas. The prosperous candidate will enjoy taking on a challenge, being part of a team, and be effective at negotiation, and creating positive relationships. We are seeking for someone who has practice working within the health and discapability sector, has broad contract and project management practice, skills in problem-solving, has practice and knowledge of purchasing and pricing frameworks, can articulate and present information confidently to external groups, and has a passion for high standards. The ideal candidate will also have an knowledge of legal systems and/or knowledge of the ID high and complex framework.
The team sits within the Discapability Directorate which provides leadership abilities and stewardship to the discapability sector to ensure an equitable, fair, and consistent discapability system.
