This position is pivotal to the success of the performing arts in the Rotorua and the wider region. This is an exciting time to get involved in the project where as an enthusiastic talented leader you will be able to bring your theatre practice, ideas and know-how to the team to ensure the project delivers on its vision for the city and wider region. The Sir Howard Morrison Centre is the focal point for the performing arts in Rotorua and is nearing completion of its redevelopment, Information technology has been earthquake strengthened and will house two state of the art performing arts spaces, the Sir Owen Glenn theatre hosting 1000 seats and the current concert chamber to be developed into a black box 100 -300 seat flexible performance space able to meet a range of performance modes. Rotorua embodies the spirit of manaakitanga and is the heart of Te Arawa. We aspire to be the centre for Maori culture and contemporary expression, and to use the performing arts to inspire the hearts and minds of our people and our visitors. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to make a real difference to both the performing arts community / sector and the Rotorua District. We are seeking for Somebody with practice in developing and delivering high quality, distinctive performing art programmes. The prosperous candidate will have the capability to manage and promote what will be an outstanding community asset while developing strong industry and client relationships.
