Haere mai ki te tono mo tetahi tuunga i te Kaunihera o te Taone o ?tautahi.The Linwood/Woolston community has celebrated the start of construction work on the eagerly-awaited Te Pou Toetoe: Linwood Pool with this important community hub due to open in late 2021. Are you passionate about the importance of learning to swim, customer centered and enjoy mentoring and coaching others? Here at the Christchurch City Council, our Recreation and Sports Unit provides Christchurch’s primary recreational facilities and plays a leading function in fitness and aquatics. This includes the valuable lgain to swim programme which teaches children a precious life skill. Our Swim Education managers are the first point of contact for customers on poolside and act as a rich source of information on all areas of the programme for the wider team. You’re the face of our group and will be proactive in engaging with parents, teachers and children, providing a fun and friendly atmosphere. As a seasoned professional, you’re at home in the water and have the practice teaching babies through to adults, as from time to time, you’ll need to jump into the water to cover for members staff. Acting as the right hand for the Team Leader, you’ll be proactive when Information technology comes to finding cover for the team and keeping the programme operational. This includes training and mentoring of new staff, superviseing classes to ensure consistent lesson plan delivery, making sure the children are assessed correctly and are in the correct class for their swimming capability. Your relationship building expertise alongside your technical practice will be a real asset as you engage with our customers, showing a general interest in their journey while opening the doors for them to engage our facilities and services in other ways. Your approachable, upbeat and have the passion to get involved in the journey of your customer, creating a lasting love of the water for the children. prosperous candidates must hold a comprehensive first aid certificate and swim education qualification. Te Pou Toetoe will include a 25 metre lane pool, a deep water pool for ‘manus’, a family spa pool, a lgain to swim pool, and a toddler pool with a splash pad. Keeping our community in the front of our minds we also have a large multi-purpose room, a meeting room and kitchen facilities.
