We are a dairy farming family in Mid Canterbury. Due to an unexpected family situation We are seeking for a fun and energetic person to look after our 4 year old girl and 2 year old boy to start 10th January or as soon after that as possible. We are flexible on how long someone is with us, but longer term (ideally through to November 2022) is our preference. We are a laid back but busy family, and will be looking for someone who is interested to be active with our kids and make the most of living in the country! We will both be at home for periods of the day while you’re working, so if you haven’t had a huge amount of practice with children, this doesn’t matter as long as you’re willing to learn. We are 10 minutes from Methven, just over an hour to Christchurch and an easy weekend trip to many South Island destinations including Queenstown, Wanaka, Hanmer, Akaroa, Kaikoura, Abel Tasman etc, so are well placed for you to make the most of the South Island. Mt Hutt skifield is close by as well - we are happy to be flexible to let you make the most of powder days. tasks would include: » Keeping our little ones entertained while we are at work » Doing some general tidying and basic house cleaning related to the kids, feeding the chickens » Some meal prep » Some town trips and taking the kids to play groups and activities. What We are seeking for: » Someone to start as soon as possible from the 10th January » A person who loves children, is able to be organised, and shows initiative. » practice with young children is preferable but not essential » Someone who is currently eligible to work in New Zealand and has a full drivers licence What the package will include: » We can guarantee a minimum of 35 hours/week of work, and if you like we can make sure you have all weekends off. We can be flexible with when these hours are, so if you are wanting to do trips away, we can work Information technology so you can have a longer period of days off in a row to use along with your annual leave. » Accommodation - We will be able to provide accommodation on farm or close by. You will need your own car for personal use, but we will provide our car to use with the kids during work time. » There is also the potential to do additional work on the farm if that is something of interest to you.
