The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) provides national leadership abilities to New Zealand’s distributed emergency management system. We have a great opportunity for a Technical Writer to join our Operational Readiness and Response team. You will play a pivotal function in creating, developing, and updating standard operating procedures, doctrine, and technical guidance documentation to support the operational activities of NEMA and the wider emergency management sector. Our ideal candidate will have excellent technical writing skills, have a proven track record of meeting stakeholder requirements, and strive to ensure operational documentation across NEMA and the emergency management sector is of an exceptional standard. Key requirements of the function include; » An capability to analyse, interpret, and simplify technical information and complex themes » An capability to edit, design and layout technical documentation » The capability to write in a range of styles and across a multitude of channels and audiences » The proven capability to communicate complex theoretical and/or technical issues clearly and concisely, tailoring information to a range of audiences » practice in developing and implementing standard operating procedures income range for this position is $78,069 – $91,846K per annum.
