We are seeking for Blueberry Pickers to start picking on Monday 1st of March. There should be work for 3-4 days. If you are interested, Contact Us by us on otautau@blueberry.co.nz. Picking blueberries : Pickers are paid on a ‘per kilo picked’ basis. New pickers are assessed to demonstrate they are capable of achieving and maintaining our performance and food quality standards. Note that a reasonable level of fitness is essential, due to the nature of the work. Pickers can expect to spend the whole day (approx 8+ hours) in the field when picking fruit, and should have water, nibbles and lunch with them. We provide a portable toilet nearby, as the main building is approximately 10 minutes away from some blocks. Picking is highly weather, and fruit dependant. Orchard work is fun and friendly, where you can enjoy the outdoors in Southland. You should make sure you have; · Sensible footwear · Clothing appropriate for work in the bright sun (including a hat) – and something for when Information technology gets cooler or wet · Bring your own packed lunch, bottled water and snacks – Otautau is approximately 7km away Please note that a reasonable level of English is expected to follow our health and safety procedures, and induction training. Also note that you are required to have the following documents with you at your induction session , before any offer of employment can be made to you: · IRD (tax) number · NZ bank account number · Proof of NZ residency or valid work permit/visa if a traveller Camping facilities (at a cost) are available for your own van and tent.
