The Improvement Systems and Technology (IST) team continues to grow capacity and capcapability and We are seeking for enthusiastic people to help us continue the journey; supporting and leading change in our agile fast-paced environment.
Collaboration and Resilience are key. This is an evolving environment, where you must be adaptable and able to deal with ambiguity and changing priorities.
Senior Java Developer - Client Self-Service
You will play a key function within the wider Information technology group and deliver the product vision across complex multi-platform environments. Working closely with other developers across multi-disciplinary teams you'll ensure the products we develop are scalable, adaptable and ultimately improve the wellbeing of NZ's vulnerable citizens
You should demonstrate great skill in creativity and innovation, capability to thrive in a high-pressure environment, and possess excellent communication expertise. Ultimately, a top-notch senior developer should have broad practice in software development, have strong analytical expertise, and have practice coaching and mentoring other developers.
MSD has adopted scaled agile (SAFe) across the organisation.
We're looking for someone who:
   » Has practice with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and DevOps and is willing to work as part of an Agile Scrum team.
   » Is a strong team player who takes pride and ownership of their work.
   » Is a self-starter/ completer.
   » practice in coaching and mentoring less practiced developers.
   » Has excellent development practice in Java11 using SpringFramework with Apache Camel.
   » Has practice with Git and Tomcat.
   » Has practice with NoSQL database CouchDB, Linux systems, Confluence, Maven and Jenkins.
   » Is able to build relationship with stakeholders with excellent written and verbal communication expertise.
   » Is able to work after-hours if required
