Machine OperatorLocation Hutt ValleyWellington Job type Permanent Salary 45000 to 46000 Category Engineering > Chemical & Process » Monday to Friday - 7.30am - 5.00pm & NO weekend work » Permanent Full time opportunity in Seaview, Wellington » Immediate Start for the right person Our client is resourceful and pragmatic, and take personal responsibility for the excellent service they deliver to their residential and commercial customers. They are also New Zealand's leading resource recovery provider. For you: » Monday to Friday 7.30am - 5.00pm » Seaview Location - head to the water side for lunch » Excellent Leadership and training provided » Great team environment » High focus on health and safety The role: Your role on site is relatively low-hazard but our client sometimes works with high-hazard chemical treatment which involves wearing PPE such as respirators/personal gas detectors. » Operating pumps - cleaning and checking when in use » Operating some plant machinery - some chemical duties » Some excavator/loader work - mixing and emptying treatment pits » Working with some solvents, acids, medical waste, among others » Assisting vacuum tanker drivers when working on site/unloading bulk waste » General manual labour - includes housekeeping, water blasting Training and guidance is extensive with this role so that's not really a problem but we do require someone who has a good attitude and is willing and keen to comply with operational and safety requirements. Looking for: » Fitness - this is a labour-intensive job so expect a great gym workout » Positive, friendly and energised personality - Keen to learn new skills » OSH/ WTR experience (loaders/excavators) are desirable » Ability to think critically and assess risks along with a mechanical aptitude » Experience in handling chemicals and hazardous substances is a bonus » Able to follow clear instructions and work procedures Click apply and send me your updated CV.
