About this function Using your specialist speech language therapy skills and practice you will help maximise learning and promote social inclusion for children and young people with learning support needs. » Make a real difference in children and young people’s lives » Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated professionals About you: » The prosperous applicant will be able to work effectively across both school and early childhood sectors » The prosperous applicant will have a working knowledge of our Learning Support Delivery Model » Responsibilities will include working with children and young people, their parents, caregivers, wh?nau, educators and other Learning Support personnel in delivering speech and language services » Excellent teaming, interpersonal and communication skills are essential as is an capability to work in a culturally sensitive manner » Practical skills in Maoritanga and/or practice in working with clients of another culture are desirable » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga is needed » Skills in working with children with complex learning/communication needs and knowledge of the early childhood and/or school curriculum are an advantage » A full current driver’s licence is essential » Overseas candidates should have their qualifications approved by New Zealand Speech-Language Therapy Association (NZSTA) in order to determine that they are appropriate for working within New Zealand Are you ready to make a difference?
