They manufacture and market a comprehensive range of wood-based building products. The Nelson division is currently looking to employ trainee graders for their branch based in Brightwater. What we can offer » Work life balance - morning or afternoon shift available » Monday to Friday » Fixed Term, Permanent or Temporary options available » Internal/external training and career development » 40 to 50 hours per week » For permanent applicants we can offer an excellent benefits package including overtime rates, superannuation and corporate medical Your role will include: » Machine Operating » check timber for faults such as knots, bad edges, stains and poor machine work » grade and mark satisfactory pieces of timber by quality and size » keep records of graded and defective timber » return faulty pieces for further machining » Heavy Lifting » Meeting the daily production targets set for the team. » Running of various areas of the factory as requested by the line management » Helping with maintenance and cleaning of all factory areas. » Ensuring quality standards are met. » Improvement ideas identified and communicated. » Prompt reporting of hazards, incidents, accidents and near misses » Relevant paperwork is completed in a timely manner to meet company standards To be successful in this role you will need: » Strong Health and Safety focus » Organizational skills and the ability to priorities under pressure » Ability to work in a small team » Physically strong » Switched on » Attention to detail » Quick Learner » Forklift experience and current OSH » Good work ethic To be eligible you must be able to pass our pre-employment screening which includes: » Ministry of Justice Checks » Drug Screening including synthetic testing » Reference Checking (2 - 3 working references) If your wanting to work for a nationally recognized company, then apply on line with an up to date CV today.
