An exciting opportunity has arisen to join DPMC’s Ministerial Services team (12 months fixed-term or secondment)
We need an practiced Senior Adviser to join the Ministerial Services team at DPMC to help us with the growing volume of work related to new business units within DPMC.
To be prosperous in this function you will:
   » Be a senior-level adviser who has strong practice working in a Ministerial Services team
Have a deep knowledge of the Official Information Act (OIA) and practice handling complex and sensitive information when processing OIA requests or the proactive release of Cabinet material.
Have practice drafting Ministerial correspondence and responding to Written Parliamentary Questions
Be a self-starter, organised, and enthusiastic
Be a team player who enjoys supporting and mentoring more junior staff, with a availability to step up and lead the team when needed
Have a flexible and adaptable approach to work and comfortable working in an environment of continuous improvement
Be able to maintain a high-standard of work for both yourself and the team
this function will suit an practiced Senior Adviser who is a confident and quick-learner, with strong collaboration expertise, and an enthusiastic and flexible mind-set.
A little bit about the friendly DPMC Ministerial Services team:
The DPMC Ministerial Services team is located within SGE. The team supervises responses to Official Information Act (OIA) requests through the coordination and drafting of responses, and the provision of advice as required. The team drafts departmental and Ministerial correspondence, coordinates draft answers to Written Parliamentary Questions (WPQs), manages the publication of OIA responses, and the proactive release of Cabinet material. The team also provides OIA and correspondence support to the Office of the Prime Minister (PMO), the offices of other DPMC portfolio Ministers, and the Prime Minister’s Chief Science Advisor, as required.

We provide high quality, impartial advice and support services to the Prime Minister, Cabinet and the Governor General. we At Presenthave nine business units; Cabinet Office, Child Wellbeing and Child Poverty Reduction Group, Government House, National Security Group, Policy Advisory Group, the Strategy, Governance and Engagement Group, All of Government Covid-19 Response Group, the Health and Disabilities Transition Unit, and the Implementation Unit. As one of the three central agencies, DPMC also plays a leadership abilities and coordination function for other public sector agencies.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is also a departmental agency within DPMC.
