About our group and team The Infrastructure Services team sits within our Operations and Infrastructure division providing technical support for core infrastructure services.We have LANs, WANs, Wi-Fi, VMware, LINUX and Microsoft technologies along with a raft of monitoring and security tools. About this function This is a great opportunity to join an established high performing team su pporting leading edge products and the Ministry’s function across the education sector. As a Senior System Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring that the systems you are responsible for operate in an efficient and effective manner thereby providing customers with a high level of application availcapability and performance. About you You will be an practiced Senior Systems Administrator who can bring technical skills as well as great customer service to the function. To be prosperous, you will: » have demonstrated operational knowledge and practice of Microsoft Server 2012, 2016 and 2019 within a VMware environment » have comprehensive knowledge of Windows Domain Controllers, Active Directory, Group Policy and PowerShell » have a solid knowledge of Windows security, networking, patching and updating, antivirus, and a sound knowledge of supporting Infrastructure applications » have good knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure services » have ideally worked in an environment maintaining and supporting mission critical systems ensuring the core infrastructure services continue to operate effectively » have the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi » have the capability to communicate effectively at both a business and technical level » be service orientated in your thinking » be an excellent team player who can collaborate, guide and mentor.
