Technical Product Owner
Over the last five years in the Improvement, Systems and Technology group we have been evolving our delivery approach to be agile at scale.
We have a number of opportunities for talented Technical Product Owners to join our dynamic Pipeline Management team which services the automated processes, tools and testing that allow our developers and operations teams to build and deploy to production.
We are pursuing Technical Product Owners to be across the three Pipeline Management products -
   »Automation Testing – Our Test Automation solutions are built with Tosca, Selenium (Java) and Playwright (Python). The function will manage a large team of test engineers and automation testers.
   » On a day to day basis the function will be implementing and delivering a variety of Test Automation services and solutions, leading the Test Automation team including code reviews, training, and coaching, while further developing and evolving our automation frameworks.
   »Environment Management - this function will lead a multi-disciplinary team that has been established to transform the environment service and deliver on-time and to specification environments.
   » this function will be leading the automation of a continuous environment build, maintenance and decommission pipeline for a wide variety of applications and systems. By using a variety of tools, processes and skillsets, this function will deliver to our software development and testing teams and contribute to the continuous delivery of software change for the Ministry.
   »Release Management - Leading a large team of release analysts, this function will own and lead the software release for multiple systems and applications. The function will seek quality and best practise for our production systems, while working with our various delivery teams in collaborative ways.
Managing the workflow and delivery through the various software life cycles of delivery is a day to day requirement of the function, while continuously enhancing our processes, tools and education of the release and change practice.
All three products offer an exciting opportunity to be part of one of New Zealand's largest Information technology groups and be the motivational force that empowers our teams to meet delivery goals and increase product capabilities and services to our clients.
You will
   » work collaboratively with the Technical Product Manager for your product group contributing to product strategy & roadmaps, and Epic business cases
   » create the work plan for teams in collaboration with team members, customers, and stakeholders
   » participate in product level ceremonies and PI Planning
   » develop Asset Management Plans
   » define acceptance criteria for product stories and confirm they are complete
   » foster an environment of trust, empowerment, collaboration, and a positive culture
You will bring
   » proven technical skills within your respective domain
   » proven practice as a prosperous product owner, scrum master or a similar leadership abilities function in a technology environment
   » strong technical expertise and the capability to translate complex technology into relatable language
   » demonstrated excellence in prioritisation and decision making
   » excellent communication skills and the capability to interact effectively at all levels
