ELSA – Early Learning and Student Achievement
The Early Learning and Student Achievement Group sets the system-level learning for every child and student. Working between policy and customer facing functions, there is a significant political, stakeholder and public interest in the high performance of this group and the education curriculum and teaching workforce results we seek for New Zealand.
About Pathways and Progress
The function of the Pathways and Progress group is to set the direction for what students learn, how they progress and how school leaders and teachers can achieve that for every child and student across school years 1 to 13. The group uses evidence and educational trends to design targeted solutions, resources, tools and services that lift educational achievement for all. The group co-designs and co?develops innovative approaches to achieve policy intentions, plans prosperous implementation strategies and monitors to ensure a return on investment.

About this function
Lead Analysts in the Pathway and Progress group lead and contribute to specific initiatives that help schools provide rich learning opportunities for all students. These particular functions have a focus on ministerial servicing and supporting our curriculum teams to provide high quality advice across a range of initiatives in our curriculum work programme.
About you
We are seeking for people who care about inclusive and equitable teaching and learning, and who have the background practice and expertise to contribute to our curriculum teams providing high quality services to ministers.
Your personal qualities will include taking pride in producing written work and other forms of communication of the highest quality every time and having a proven capability to get the job done. You will be able to work at pace and manage set tasks and projects, but you also will notice pressure points, take the initiative, and act. In this function you will be expected to have the kind of interpersonal savviness that means you relate well with all kinds of people.
knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum, Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and Te Wh?riki is desirable.
