But Kelly sends the longest list of things that a child wants for Christmas that Santa has ever seen. Santa flies Kelly to the North Pole so she can lgain for herself the true meaning of Christmas. After an absence of three years, this magical Christmas treat returns. KEY DATES:Monday14 November - Friday 23 December 2022 REHEARSALS:(at Takapuna Football Association Clubrooms) Monday 14November - Friday18November, 9.15am -4.45pm daily Monday21November - Friday25November, 9.15am -4.45pm daily PRODUCTION WEEK: Monday27 November - Friday 2 December, generally 9.30am - 7pm daily SEASON: (atPumpHouseTheatre, Takapuna) Saturday 3 December,Gala Opening at 5pm Monday4 December - Friday 23 December, shows at 10.30am and 1pm daily No shows Sundays. Director/Playwright's Note: I wrote this show in 1991 and Information technology has had seasons in 1991, 1992 and every year from 2004 to 2017 and then in 2019. This year sees its 18thincarnation and is now firmly one of the Top Ten things to do at Christmas in Auckland.We are seeking for adult actors forprofessional paid functions who have practicewith, andenjoy,performing to children. They also need to have good singing capability(preferably able to sing well in harmonies). We are also casting the show with alternate performers so playing a minor function but learning the lead functions in case of illness. Auditions: Thursday20thOctober, Grey Lynn Community Centre The characters we're auditioning for are: Santa Claus/Kelly's Dad: Professional adult actor to play the jolly man himself and the father of Kelly at the top of the show. A great heart and a twinkle in the eye. Singer. Kelly: Young (18-29) professional adult actor to play a girl aged5-7.Kelly is breezily self-centered and unknowingly, and therefore unwittingly, selfish, tactless and thoughtless. A smile diminishes these character traits to make her thelikeablelead character she needs to be. Singer. Alana/ Toy (Kelly alternate): Young (18 - 29) professional adult actor to play a girl aged5-7.Alana is kind and thoughtful - Kelly's best friend andneighbour.Alsoto play a Toy.Comic timing would be an asset. Actor would also play one of the toys in the toyshop scene. Singer. Will also lgain function of Kelly. Rudolph/Elf/Toy/Parent (Santa or *Elfie alternate): Professional actor to play a variety of small non-speaking functions. Comedic expertise would be an asset. Singer.Will also lgain functions of Santa Claus and *Elfie. *Elfie - he is Santa's chief elf and this function has been pre-cast with a returning performer. Musician/Musical Director : Our musician/musical director is always part of the company, and attends all rehearsals, then performs live during the shows. For this show, we prefer our musician to play keyboard. Other instruments could be integrated. » To rehearse and perform the incidental music, soundtrack, and sound effects prescribed in the show » To assist in the teaching of the songs to the cast » To suggest and source the sound effects and/or atmosphere music for the show » To assist in the pack in and placement of any sound equipment and musical instruments » To assist the technicians and director in getting the sound levels balanced Audition notes Due to tight scheduling around other TBTC activities we are unable to schedule auditions on other days - if you are unavailable on this day you are welcome to send a video audition to us. We must receive this no later than 5:00pm Wed 19 October, prior to the day of auditions . YouTube links are safest as they are easily viewed on many devices. Note we can only audition one single function (eg KellyorAlana) or one combined function (eg Rudolph/Elf/Toy/Parent) per actor on the day due to time constraints.
