We are now offering a rare opportunity for passionate and motivated Aucklanders to play a key function in influencing council policies, plans and initiatives as a member of an Auckland Council Advisory Panel.
We are now recruiting for the following panels:
   » Discapability Advisory Panel
   » Ethnic Communities Advisory Panel
   » Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel
   » Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel
   » Seniors Advisory Panel
   » Youth Advisory Panel
He k?rero m?u: About you
You will have lived practice and sound knowledge of a diverse Auckland community or communities significant to the panel being applied for. You will have the capability to think strategically and critically.
Previous practice with interpreting policy, project plans and strategies is preferred but not essential. You will have the confidence to talk with a range of stakeholders and contribute to group discussions. An knowledge of Te Tiriti O Waitangi / the Treaty of Waitangi is also important.
You will have the passion to commit to a three - year term (March 2023 - September 2025) and have capacity to make Information technology to the scheduled panel meetings and workshops (week day and/or evenings).

Panel members are paid meeting fees and reimbursed for travel expenses as per the Auckland Council Expenses Policy for Appointed Members.
Each of the above panels will meet up to 10 times per year. Panel members may also be invited to attend additional meetings or to get involved other activities significant to the panel's work. Each meeting is approximately 2 to 3 hours in duration and panel members are likely to spend on average 10 – 15 hours per month on panel activity.
Please note that the questions in the online application form are standard recruitment questions for Auckland Council and may not all be significant to the advisory panel function. In particular, the questions on income expectations and notice period can be answered with ‘not applicable’.
