Job Opportunity: Principal Policy Analyst:HainesAttractJob description:Job Description» Are you looking to make a difference to results for disabled people, their families and wh?nau during an exciting time of change?» Do you want to apply your policy leadership abilities expertise in a fixed term or secondment function in a supportive, collaborative team? » Wellington located function The Discapability Policy team is seeking a motivated and practiced Principal Policy Analyst to fill a fixed-term or secondment position to the end of June 2022 that offers the opportunity to work across a range of important and engaging issues in a complex environment (secondments may also be considered). this function sits within the Discapability Directorate of the Ministry of Health, providing expert advice through high quality data collation, policy analysis and financial modelling. The Discapability Directorate provides leadership abilities and stewardship to the discapability sector of New Zealand, and is responsible for ensuring that an equitable, fair and sustainable support system delivers on the Government’s priorities for people with a discapability. To be prosperous, you will have the following: » An advanced knowledge and practice of government and policy processes » practice of leading and planning policy projects, including taking strategic and tactical approaches to achieve results » practice of supporting and mentoring peers within a team to ensure quality policy advice and processes » Strong written and oral communication expertise » Proven capability to manage relationships across senior stakeholders, and work collaboratively with partners in the discapability community and public sector colleagues » A demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi » Knowledge of the discapability sector is highly regarded The Ministry of Health is the kaitiaki of the health and discapability system in New Zealand.
