Now we are at Level 2. This is wonderful news. If you are wanting to visit the Wild West, now is the time to come and join us at Noah's Ark Backpackers and be part of our friendly, relaxed Hostel. We are seeking for capable and enthusiastic staff. Currently we have 1-2 positions available for people. Our hostel is a beautiful Edwardian Heritage Building. 100m from middle of town and 4 minutes walk from Countdown Supermarket The animal themed murals on the walls have been painted by famous NZ artists and cartoonists. Workers have a shared room with views over the city and a balcony to enjoy socialising and the setting sun. This is a great location, being the gateway to many tourist attractions. E.g Punakaiki (Pancake Rock), Paparoa Track, Coal Creek Falls, Lake Brunner and the Wilderness Cycle Trail. The work is 2-3 hours a day mainly helping with cleaning, vacuuming, folding laundry and other household tasks. If we are busy and you work 3 hours per day. We also can access discounts to Monteiths and other local tour operators. Preferred minimum stay is 2-3 weeks. However, we are negotiable. Please Note: RE: Changing rules for Work Exchange: With the new Government rules this is paid work, doing 2-3 hours per day, ($20 per hour + 8% holiday pay) So you must already hold a valid Working Holiday Visa and have an IRD number. We provide accommodation and food also other extras such as free wifi, laundry, bikes and use of fishing rods. These will be deducted from your weekly pay.
