The Mental Health and Wellbeing Commission opened its doors on 9 February 2021 to bring leadership abilities and oversight to the transformation of our mental health and addiction system, and to contribute to better and equitable mental health and wellbeing results for all people in Aotearoa.
As a newly established organisation, this is a great time to join us and play a key function in supporting the Commission as we assess and report on progress with system transformation, monitor mental health and addiction services, and advocate for the collective interests of people with lived practice of mental distress and/or addiction.
As a Te Tiriti o Waitangi-grounded organisation, we are committed to fulfilling our responsibility as an independent Crown Entity to honour Te Tiriti and work in partnership with M?ori as tangata whenua. We want our workforce to be a reflection of our communities across Aotearoa and are actively seeking applications from people who represent that diversity.
As Principal Advisor Planning and Accountcapability you will lead our business planning, accountcapability and machinery of government functions ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives and that we meet our statutory obligations. This includes leading the production of core accountcapability documents – Statement of Intent, Statement of Performance Expectations and the annual report.
We are seeking for someone who can bring thought leadership abilities and significant technical skills in these areas and can demonstrate providing sound strategic advice at the Chief Executive, Board level and in briefings to Ministers.
You will be practiced in analysing and interpreting high level issues and delivering high quality work with strong interpersonal skills at all levels.
You will have an knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, M?ori tikanga and/or a desire to develop your practice in this area.
practice and/or interest in supporting those who are affected by mental illness, distress and/or addiction would be highly valuable.
