The payroll comprises in the region of 1800 employees, with a relatively high rate of attrition. The New Zealand entity has been through a number of restructures over the past year and there is a longer term plan to transition to a regional shared services model from the beginning of 2022. An opportunity is available for an practiced Payroll practitioner to join the team on a contract basis with an initial horizon at the end of the year and some potential past then. This will be a hands-on and relatively busy function, helping to train and develop a current team member, superviseing a number of continuing projects (including an upcoming leave audit and a time and attendance project), troubleshooting current issues, writing process documents, and general reporting. The function will hold responsibility for managing the relationships with Datacom, the external payroll provider, as well as the business. The function will require a relatively practiced Payroll Manager, Somebody with a continuous improvement mindset and strong legislative expertise with the capability to see gaps in process and drive enhancements. An aptitude for reporting, including Excel spreadsheets, will be a key pre-requisite, as will first-rate communication and leadership abilities abilities. this function represents a significant opportunity to join a real global leader, a brand name which will stand out on a resume, in a true value-add consulting function. We are ideally looking for someone who can start within the next few weeks and commit until the end of the year in the first instance, however, would certainly also be keen to hear from those who have a notice period from their current position.
