We work with and for the community to deliver environmental initiatives in partnership with key entities like Auckland Council, the Ministry for the Environment, other not-for-profits and community groups.We do this by supporting the community with expertise and tools to restore nature, grow food, reduce waste, ride and fix bikes, and live more sustainably. We also run workshops and provide opportunities for hands-on environmental action in Auckland. RESPONSIBILITIES The Graphic Designer's responsibilities include the following tasks (although other tasks may be assigned from time to time): » Creating and editing design files » Creating and updating collateral and promotional materials » superviseing production of print collateral » Taking, processing and editing digital images » Website updates » Contributing to team planning » Other tasks as agreed This work shall be carried out to the specifications and standards required within all appropriate laws and regulations, while maintaining a healthy and safe environment. QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES The Graphic Designer will be expected to consistently exhibit the following behaviours in relation to their tasks: » A good eye for compelling images and attractive design » Attention to detail » Team player - open, reliable, and willing to pitch in and help as needed » Flexibility and availability to work outside normal office hours when needed » Open-minded and resourceful in finding solutions » Confident to suggest your own ideas where you see an opportunity » Well-organised - can manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and cope well under pressure » Good capability to pick up new expertise such as working with new programmes and online platforms » Passionate about caring for our environmentand getting more people involved Education and/or practice » Acceptable previous practice in graphic design and marketing » Full, clean driver's licence » practice or an interest in videography and video editing is desirable but not essential Language expertise » Good written and verbal communication expertise Computer expertise » Competency in basic computer programmes including Microsoft Office, Outlook and Google Drive » expertise of social media platforms » expertise of Wordpress website management » expertise of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Lightroom and Acrobat STATUS AND HOURS » Part-time employment » A total of 16 hours per week, flexible but attendance at set team meetings is required » Details of days / hours / activities must be supplied each fortnight to enable completion of wage and time records How to submit the application: Please send your CV and covering letterto: Lena Fedulova - lena@ecomatters.org.nz Skills:
