About the function
As our Kai?rahi Matua – Tupu wh?nake me mana taurite, (Workforce Development Lead – M?ori and Equity) you will develop, lead and implement strategies to attract, onboard, support and grow M?ori and t?ngata of other diversity and minority groups. Through these strategies you will be part of increasing cultural compentence, equity, consciousness, safety and responsiveness across Canterbury and West Coast DHBs.
In this function you will:
   » develop and lead the programmes of work to attract/hire, onboard, grow/support M?ori and minority groups
   » design and implement our Employer Value Proposition (EVP) by targeting M?ori and other identified diversity and minority groups
   » design our hiring and onboarding practices to increase cultural appropriateness and respect towards M?ori culture, values, principles, and to promote tikanga across the organisation
   » develop and implement leadership abilities strategies and frameworks to ensure equity across all layers of the organisation
   » develop and implement our cultural competency framework to develop and grow all our t?ngata particularly in the areas of cultural consciousness, safety, and responsiveness
   » work in partnership with mana whenua, iwi and wider communities to identify, establish and promote workforce pathways for M?ori and other diversity groups.
To be prosperous you will have:
   » knowledge of te reo M?ori and tikanga, as well as implementation of these into the wider organisational processes and practices
   » leadership abilities practice in workforce development and equity and/or diversity, inclusion and belonging related functions
   » demonstrated knowledge of how to bring about people change through redesign of people systems and processes
   » practice growing M?ori and/or other diverse workforces and leadership abilities representation.
