M?ori Pathways – Hawkes Bay is one of two key trial areas for the four year programme which has been co-designed with wh?nau, iwi, hap? M?ori; external organisations and individuals independent of Ara Poutama Aotearoa. These functions represent a unique opportunity which will see you making differences in the lives of the t?ne you will work with, as well as their families.
About the function | M? te t?nga
The Change Manager, M?ori Pathways is responsible for planning, leading and facilitating change management activities to support M?ori Pathways people leaders and their teams to prepare for and embed change and new ways of working to help shape our future operations.
The function accountabilities include:
   » Leading and facilitating a collaborative and consistent approach to change management across the M?ori Pathways, building ownership and capcapability of the teams
   » Leading the change readiness assessment for the M?ori Pathways
   » Supporting the development of stakeholder messages and communication materials as needed
   » Working closely with the business, facilitating and conducting consultation to ensure appropriate engagement with the change initiatives and commitment to change plans and activities
   » Ensuring planning, reporting and benefits realisation requirements are aligned with the programme’s landscape and overall objectives
   » Optimising the timing of the release of programme deliverables into the business operations
   » Defining and managing quality for M?ori Pathways deliverables, in a Kaupapa M?ori context
   » Identifying and managing business risk and escalate these as appropriate
   » Providing support to the M?ori Pathways Manager and subject matter experts
   » Identifying the impacts on M?ori Pathways from other business processes, projects, programmes and providing solutions
   » Monitoring business performance after initiative implementation, identifying challenges and working with the business to develop and implement remedial action
   » Developing and maintaining positive and collaborative working relationships with stakeholders (including Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated, providers, unions and operational management) and significant external relationships and networks

   » Understands and is committed to a Kaupapa M?ori Pathways operational design and delivery which delivers for, and demonstrates sensitivity towards, M?ori, Pacific Peoples and other cultures.
   » knowledge of tikanga M?ori and some proficiency in te reo M?ori.
   » High level leadership abilities expertise and proven change management abilities to implement prosperous change.
   » broad negotiation or advocacy expertise with broad practice with conflict resolution, influencing, persuading and negotiating
   » knowledge of best practice project management and processes for managing complex programmes of work from design to implementation.
   » Demonstrated capability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a broad cross section of people by taking a collaborative and consultative approach.
   » Advanced communication expertise and broad practice in the communications field covering medial and stakeholder networking and interactions and issues management, to achieve strategic and business plan results.
   » capability to interface with Senior Management and to think and operate strategically.
   » Advanced writing, editing and verbal communication expertise with the capability to communicate complex issues to a range of audiences.
   » practice managing governance boards.
   » Proven capability to exercise sound judgement and decision making.
   » consciousness of justice sector trends and issues
Qualifications
An appropriate professional qualification and demonstrated professional leadership abilities in a significant area or formal business change management qualification, or work towards one would be an advantage, or demonstrable practice leading the implementation of significant change management initiatives.
Please note this function is physically located in the Hawkes Bay.
