Te Puna Ako / Centre for Tertiary Teaching and Learning (CeTTL) engages with students and staff across the University of Waikato to enhance the quality of teaching and learning. Academic and professional staff in the Centre, work collaboratively to provide leadership abilities in a wide variety of teaching and learning initiatives including the development of professional and academic English language expertise. Nga? ko?rero mo? te tu?ranga – About the function We have two vacancies in this highly committed team who are passionate about enhancing the expertise and capabilities of our students. You will have the drive to support student learning, enhance student practice and improve student retention and success. In particular, you will contribute to major initiatives for M?ori and Pacific student success and Information technology would be strongly desirable to have an knowledge of bicultural approaches and knowledge of M?ori and Pasifika perspectives. In this function, you will work collaboratively with students and staff across the university. You will offer one-on-one consultations, and design and deliver a range of workshops and events, as well as classroom-located and online activities. Your passion, initiative and creativity will enhance student retention and success. To be prosperous in this position you will have demonstrated practice and knowledge of academic literacy principles and practices, and of academic integrity with a track-record of effective tertiary teaching and facilitation, including in flexible, blended and online learning environments. You will have up-to-date knowledge of the recent trends in tertiary education, and an consciousness of the impact of these trends on student development.
