About Us:
Our client, an international leader in automated material solutions, is at the forefront of multiple groundbreaking projects within Auckland, estimating a project value exceeding $400+ Million. As a Health & Safety Officer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of these monumental ventures. This position entails night shifts from 17:00pm to 03:00am, with the last shift of the week concluding at 03:00am on Saturday morning. Initially, this is a 3-month contract, but depending on project duration it may be extended. Despite the length, in joining this industry giant you will open pathways to unmatched career exposure and a guaranteed substantial level of professional growth. The salary for this position ranges from a very attractive $60 to $100 per hour, contingent on your qualifications and expertise.
Minimum Requirements:
   » You must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
   » You MUST possess New Zealand competency to issue permits for High Risk Work activities.
   » Qualifications such as NZQA 17590 Level 3 or higher are mandatory.
   » A minimum of 3 years of exposure to high-risk environments, preferably within the construction sector.
   » Possession of a safety qualification certificate such as UK NVQ L3, NEBOSH, or Cert IV (AUS/NZ).
Preferred Qualities:
   » Familiarity with the ICAM/5 Whys methodology.
   » Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
   » Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
   » Attention to detail and the capability to work independently.
   » Availability to start promptly and the legal right to work in New Zealand.
Your Responsibilities:
   » Reviewing and analyzing Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Risk Assessments to ensure strict compliance with safety standards.
   » Conducting thorough incident investigations using the ICAM/5 Whys methodology to pinpoint root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
   » Collaborating closely with the construction team to proactively address safety concerns and foster a culture of safety awareness.
   » Assisting in the development and delivery of comprehensive safety training programs to enhance employee knowledge and adherence to safety protocols.
   » Maintaining meticulous records of incidents, inspections, and training activities.
   » Actively contributing to the continuous improvement of health and safety practices on-site.
