Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $19.6 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day.
Our vision for school property is that all schools have quality learning environments as part of a well-managed and sustainable portfolio that helps deliver equitable and excellent results for every child.
About the function
The function is responsible for providing day to day operational, financial and administrative support to deliver to a consistently high standard the key financial activities within the Finance – Capital (EIS) team.
Tasks will be varied, but include processing orders, invoices, credit notes, journals, budget reconciliations, managing a shared Mailbox, and connected Finance tasks that support a busy Capital Works function.
The prosperous applicant will be action-orientated and customer-focused with excellent time management and communication expertise. The capability to work effectively within a team is also vital.
About you
Ideally you will have proven accounting or financial administration practice within the public sector and some knowledge of projects and capital expenditure accounting.
You will also offer practice in:
   » a high performing, fast paced work environment, coping with high volumes and tight deadlines
   » managing relationships and consultation with an assortment of internal and external stakeholders
   » systems management
