A major event on the nationwide calendar, Information technology is held simultaneously over three weeks acrossAucklandand Wellington during May,with a total attendance of up to90,000 each year. As the Creative Producer, you will be part of a busy team responsible for the smooth running of the 2023 Comedy Festival.You will lead on the collaborative programming ofthe Festival and Trust events, ensuring a representative range of local, national and international quality live performance that challenges the spectrum of comedy - with the aim of presenting a Comedy Festival with a unique Aotearoa identity and world-class status. A key part of the functionis toproduce a range of shows for the NZ Comedy Trustwithin the Festival, including the Best Foods Comedy Gala, our flagship event, alongside everything from large commercial shows, to intimate late night gigs, and kids' shows. You will work closely with our broadcast partner to bring some of these live shows to audiences on TV and online.You will bring a creative approach to look at ways to showcase comedy and artists across live and digital environments. Responsibilities include programming, budgeting, relationship management, industry development, ticketing, scheduling and logistics, reporting,and production administration. You will also steer and deliver a range of artist and industry development initiatives, both within the Festival and all over the year. Directly reporting to the General Manager,the function works collaboratively alongside the Operations Manager in general delivery of the Festival and Trust initiatives, and with the Marketing & Partnerships Manager to bring things to life. To succeed in the function you will have: » Previous practice in arts or event management, including producing live shows. » Effective budgeting, scheduling and administration expertise. » Excellent communication, relationship management and interpersonal expertise. » The capability to work to tight deadlines and to work effectively under pressure. » A collaborative approach with ahigh level of initiative, self-motivation and enthusiasm. » A passion for comedy and live performance. This is an exciting opportunity for an practiced Producer to join a small team in making a vital contribution to the comedy industry in Aotearoa. The NZ Comedy Trust aims to elevate New Zealand comedy as a celebrated and integral feature of the arts sector.
