A major event on the nationwide calendar, Information technology is held simultaneously over three weeks acrossAucklandand Wellington during May,with a total attendance of up to90,000 each year. The Operations Manager is key to the success of the Festival and is responsible for the facilitation, coordination and effective operational management of the NZ International Comedy Festival, as well as other New Zealand Comedy Trust events and industry development initiatives, both within the Festival and all over the year. You will lead an Operations team including the Production Manager and Ticketing Coordinator, so knowledge of these areas is required. Relationship expertise are paramount as you will be the key contact for our amazing venue partners and suppliers. Previous Festival practice is highly desirable. We work collaboratively as a small team and bring on additional staff for the Festival season, so this is a very hands-on function where you'll need to work across all areas of operations. Key responsibilities include relationship management, budgeting, scheduling and logistics, health & safety, compliance, ticketing, contract negotiation, reporting, and production administration. To succeed in the function you will have: » Previous practice in arts or event management, including producing live events/shows. » Excellent budgeting, scheduling and administration expertise. » Excellent communication, relationship management and interpersonal expertise. » The capability to work to tight deadlines and to work effectively under pressure. » knowledge of delivering events with strong emphasis on health and safety, with an capability to respond effectively in a rapidly changing environment. » A collaborative approach with ahigh level of initiative, self-motivation and enthusiasm. » A passion for comedy and live performance. This is an exciting opportunity for an practiced event manager to join a small team in making a vital contribution to the comedy industry in Aotearoa.You will work directly with comedians, producers/promoters, venues and technicians todeliver a great Festival practicefor audiences and artists.Directly reporting to the General Manager,the function works collaboratively alongsidethe Creative ProducerandMarketing & Partnerships Manager on programming and general operations delivery of the Festival and Trust initiatives, to bring the event to life. The NZ Comedy Trust aims to elevate New Zealand comedy as a celebrated and integral feature of the arts sector.
