The function of the Policy Implementation and Delivery Group within MfE is to enable policy into action on the ground. A key focus of the business group is working with M?ori/Iwi, Local government, industry and others to identify results, bring together diversity of thinking and different perspectives to find solutions. To achieve this, Information technology is imperative our teams that are performing in the most effective way and that are supported in building capcapability and applying innovative approaches and practices from multiple disciplines, behaviour change, behaviour insights, systems thinking, behavioural economics, design thinking and behavioural systems.
M? te t?ranga mahi | About the function
this function is part of a new Systems Change & Capcapability function within the Ministry. We are focused on ensuring that work underway to implement our environmental policy and regulatory activity incorporates a multi-disciplinary approach drawing on behaviour change, systems thinking, design thinking, that we do this with te ao M?ori designed in, and that we adopt a strongly user-centric approach.
this function will be a senior practitioner for all aspects of Behaviour Insights, Behaviour & Practice Change and ?system shifts? in our Policy Implementation area. As a practitioner you will be heavily involved in both the doing and the guiding of implementation activity. This is not a research-oriented function, Information technology is a practitioner function, leading and heavily involved in the application of behavioural science to any, and perhaps all aspects of the project.
You will proactively engage and consult across our implementation portfolio to offer a range of perspectives, incorporating our Ng? M?t?pono design principles approaches into our work at the outset, to enable the development of effective and impactful approaches for our projects and teams.

   » Practical knowledge of a broad range of BI tools, practices and approaches;
   » broad applied practice of using a variety of BI approaches, methods and models together with the capability to explain these to audiences who do not have knowledge of BI or Behavioural Science - for example using EAST, BASIC or COM-B as integral parts of project design;
   » A deep and credible knowledge of behavioural science and direct practice of how Information technology can be applied to help solve complex real-life policy problems.
   » capability to quickly assimilate complex issues across multiple areas and distil insights into practical solutions. You will be called on to explain the benefit, application and use of behavioural science and the connected methods and tools.
   » A strong commitment to developing your cultural capcapability and capacity in te ao M?ori and whakaaro M?ori.
   » Other beneficial skills would include behavioural economics, social/behavioural psychology, environmental psychology, design thinking and/or behaviourally oriented evaluation methods;
   » You are organised and have a track record of managing all execution details across multiple projects without dropping the ball. You jump easily from intent to detail and back again. You work transparently so everyone knows what’s happening and when. You get things done.

income range for this function is$105,802 to $128,424pa. Appointment within this range will be located on skills and practice.
