The Position
The function of the Receptionist/Medical Typing/Bookings is a shared front desk function within a specialist (departmental) area of this large Practice and includes varied responsibilities, such as:
   » Patient contact (phone and face to face), liaising with Specialists, external hospital staff, suppliers etc
   » Patient bookings procedures
   » Liaising with Doctors, Specialist staff to ensure all patients are seen within a timely manner
   » Some medical typing (end of day reports)
   » General administration eg settling patients accounts (cashiering or Southern Cross), mail, record keeping, loading patient details, filing of patient referrals, and other practice related tasks
   » Training to be provided on patient recording and booking systems
You:
   » If you are not a Health Science Graduate, Information technology is essential that you have all-round Medical Administration and reception work practice, be a touch typist (tested) and technologically savvy to pick up new systems
   » A calm, warm and truly empathetic person who genuinely cares about providing a wrap-around service to the Specialists wide variety of patients (some of whom may be terminally ill) is paramount
   » Excellent English, as face to face and telephone contact with patients is required
   » practice and tertiary qualifications also welcomed, ie a candidate who possesses the analytical capability and common-sense to use their initiative if something needs covering
   » You will enjoy variety as (rostered) you will be asked along with others, to provide cover in their other nearby Auckland specialist centres, thus your own car is required those days – notice is provided.
   » NZ Citizenship or NZ Permanent Residency for this permanent function please
