About our group and team
Evidence, Data and Knowledge group (EDK) – We create high quality evidence to inform policy and practice.
The Educational Measurement and Assessment (EMA) team implement large-scale national and international research studies that help us to know the health of the New Zealand Education system. We work with international partners such as the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA). /p>
About this function
We are seeking for an adaptable, encouraging team member who can work in a long-term project team environment.
You may have previous practice with research and analysis in large-scale research studies, project management, report writing, and relationship building with policy stakeholders or be entering the workforce from a related field of study.
Our Analysts support the study leads to plan and deliver all aspects of operational data collection, analysis and reporting of results. practice using statistical analysis packages such as SAS and R as well as capability to write and present clear messages coming from data are key expertise We are seeking for.
We highly value previous practice in educational research, especially working with policy colleagues and international partner agencies.
Fluency in te reo is not required but will be highly valued.
Note International travel may be required in the future.
About you
To be prosperous, you will need to have the following:
   » A solid background in data analysis and/or statistics
   » A strong interest in, knowledge of and or practice in quantitative research
   » Able to effectively use SAS, SPSS, R or similar statistical tools
   » An affinity for working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to understand expectations, meet agreed deadlines, develop approaches and communicate results
   » An eye for detail, taking pride in the accuracy of your work and offering robust and constructive peer review to colleagues
   » Able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences and individuals
You will also offer as follows:
   » the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga
