About our group and team The Business Group Finance team supports our business leaders to make great financial decisions that enable us to deliver on our purpose. We provide both transactional support and advice on budgeting, forecasting and appropriation management, along with providing strategic analysis, insight, and advice to our leaders. About you To be prosperous in the function, you’ll be a good communicator and be able to develop good working relationships with senior leaders and be able to present financial information in a way that empowers them to make great decisions. You’ll be able to translate complex financial information and concepts into easy to understand language. As a Senior Management Accountant, you’ll be key to supporting management accountants to develop their expertise, and coaching budget holders to improve their financial capcapability. You’ll be comfortable testing your ideas with the team, and providing feedback and robust discussion on the ideas of others. You will also offer the following: » Ideally a minimum of five years’ practice working with business managers developing budgets, forecasts, performance reporting and input into business cases » A good knowledge of public sector financial management » Practical knowledge and application of management accounting principles and techniques » the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga Are you ready to make a difference?
