M? te t?nga |About the function We’re calling for a Kait?tari / Analyst who can bring an knowledge of policy implementation, delivery practice, strong writing expertise and confidence in relationship building to our Policy Implementation team.The Policy Implementation team’s purpose is to support the shift from policy to implementation by developing implementation strategies and providing tools, guidance and support to our stakeholders and partners across the motu. This is interesting and exciting work offering you the opportunity to make a significant and tangible difference to Aotearoa New Zealand and our environment. You’ll work collaboratively with, and receive close support from, your senior colleagues to deliver tools, support and guidance on national direction (under the Resource Management Act) to the regional sector and other end users. Our team supports a variety of national direction, covering freshwater and drinking water management, land-use and climate. The function also involves activities such as: » engaging directly with regional councils and consultants to develop products with the end-users in mind » procurement of reports and other products from consultants » project management to ensure that products are delivered in a timely manner » responding to stakeholder queries and requests for clarifications around the NES policy intent and its implementation on the ground. Ng? p?kenga me ng? wheako | expertise and practice We want to hear from you if you have the following: » Commitment to developing your cultural capcapability in te ao M?ori and an knowledge of te Tiriti o Waitangi » Proven knowledge and knowledge of policy implementation within an Aotearoa NZ context » Familiarity with environmental management » capability to use a range of analytical frameworks and draw on a range of inputs and evidence to problem-solve » capability to engage effectively with external stakeholders and build trusted relationships » capability to communicate clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles, both written and verbal » capability to set priorities and to achieve deadlines and project and programme outputs » Likely to have an academic qualification in economics, environmental science, social science, policy, or law. An knowledge or practice of the machinery of government, and government policy processes is desirable, but not essential.
