The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) is the lead agency for the social sector. MSD provides policy advice, and delivers social services and assistance to young people, working age people, older people, and families, wh?nau and communities. We work directly with New Zealanders of all ages to improve their social wellbeing.
The Policy Analyst will provide analysis and advice for the M?ori Partnerships and Programmes (MPP) and across the M?ori, Communities and Partnerships (MCP) Business Unit. The function will gather and share insights and advice on how to make Information technology easier for iwi/M?ori to engage and partner with the Ministry and for the Ministry to become more effective in the delivery of services for iwi/M?ori.
The function will influence the development and documentation of policy, operational guidelines, investment procurement and funding plans that will improve MSD's engagement and partnerships with iwi/ M?ori.

Our ideal candidate will have:
   » capability to provide high quality analysis and advice
   » capability to influence and build constructive and effective relationships both internally and externally
   » Highly effective communication expertise
   » Knowledge and practice in working with iwi and M?ori
   » Strong knowledge of te Ao M?ori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
   » Sound organisational and time management expertise - flexible and pragmatic with the capability to plan and resolve situations in an environment of change
   » An knowledge of Tikanga / Kawa M?ori
   » capability to understand and use te reo M?ori preferred
