The communications team is critical to the Ministry. We lead communications and engagement around the biggest changes to New Zealand education in decades. We are responsible for ensuring that we listen and respond to the views of the tens of thousands of New Zealanders who are contributing to these changes through the Korero Matauranga | Education Conversation. We lead all engagement with the media, and manage all the Ministry’s internal and external communications channels, publications, branding and communications design. About this function The Project agent Warehouse Management works with the Production Manager to manage the supplier contract for warehouse managing and distribution. This includes maintaining a productive working relationship with the warehouse supplier and key business units within the Ministry of Education. The function will manage the warehouse inventory and provide reports and recommendations on stocking and destocking, among other tasks. The function is for fifteen hours per week. Key accountabilities include: » using inventory management good practice and practice to enhance processes and develop effective solutions » establish and maintain sound working relationships with the warehouse supplier » receiving monthly six-monthly and annual stock level reports and reviewing to identify reprinting and destocking requirements » facilitating supplier activities connected with destocking, so they occur on a timely and secure basis » working collaboratively with business units to ensure the Ministry’s warehouse inventory supports effective supply and delivery of resources to schools. About you We are seeking for some with the capability to analyse, improve and develop new processes. You will use judgement and solve problems in ways that make things work on the ground. You will be Somebody with an attention to detail, but also able to see the larger picture. You’ll also be a ‘people person’, with the capability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers. You will have practice with warehousing and logistics, including inventory management, preferably in a print production and publishing context, or with inventory management in a comparable organisation (e.g. retail).
