Farm adjunct:Job description:Farm adjunctPayment: Accommodation & Paid ($24.00)Job location: Clinton, South Otago Region: Otago/Queenstown/Wanaka practice: Limited practice Necessary Listing Added: 27/07/2021 Iona Dairy is seeking two enthusiastic staff members to help us over the busy calving season, to start ASAP. (Please also see our listing for calf rearer.) We are pursuing someone preferably with some dairy farm practice to help us as a farm adjunct over the busy calving season. Pay will depend on practice, with a minimum of $24 per hour. This may lead into a permanent position if performance meets expectations. We will consider you for this position if you are: patient, physically fit, a fast learner, a problem-solver, mechanically minded, and enjoy working with animals. tasks will include: milking twice a day, operating dairy shed plant, shifting breaks (temporary fences) and stock, use and simple maintenance of farm vehicles. This position includes accommodation in either a 2 bedroom house in Clinton (5 mins drive away) or a large caravan situated on farm. The roster will be one day off per week in the peak six weeks of calving, and two days off per week outside of this. Iona Dairy is situated in Wairuna, which is a 5 min drive from Clinton (schools, dairy, petrol station, pub, takeaways, gift shops), 30 mins from Balclutha and Gore (supermarkets, The Warehouse, libraries, pools, restaurants, etc) and 2 hours from Central Otago.
