Job Description

We're looking for a highly enthusiastic, practiced and driven IT Project Manager to join our Digital Services Team here within The University of Auckland. In this function, your main focus will be to lead the prosperous delivery of technology and connected business change initiatives within the Digital Services portfolio.
Key accountabilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
   » Ensuring a clear and established Governance structure is created for projects
   » Developing & managing project plans and proactively monitoring their overall progress.
   » Resolving risks & issues, and initiating corrective action as appropriate
   » Providing budget management of assigned projects including the monitoring of project commitments/resource, forecasting costs against budget, and preparing monthly forecast reports
   » Managing relationships and communications with all stakeholders, promoting the projects and the benefits to be delivered
   » Championing the use and benefits of the University's P3M methodologies, ensuring a consistent and common approach is used
   » Identifyingand leading continuous improvement initiatives within the Information technology PMO
About you:
To be considered for this function, you will ideally hold a significant industry-related tertiary qualification and demonstrable project management practicein technology projects in a similar-sized organisation in value of over $1M each, including project-related financial management and reporting.
You will demonstrate akeen capability to influence and communicate effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders. You will operate with energy, drive and passion and willexhibit a collaborative & proactive approach, where they partner closely with peers, value the needs of others and model best practice principals and behaviours. Teamwork, customer focus and negotiation expertise are vital to the function.
To be prosperous in this function, you mustalsohave:
   » The drive and energy to lead from the front and take stakeholders and project teams on the journey to a prosperous outcome
   » The capability to work collaboratively in a team environment whilst effectively managing your own workload. You'll also be flexible and adaptable in a busy environment, balancing multiple demands.
   » Excellent written and verbal communication expertise which are essential, along with good time management expertise.
   » practice in solution development/integration project management using waterfall and agile methodologies; resulting in the capability to demonstrate proven practice in prosperously delivering large and complex projects.
   » Proven capability to establish prosperous and productive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
   » practice with managing large cloud migration projects is highly preferred
