Counsellor - 2-4 month contractJob location:Bay of Plenty All bay of Plenty Work Type: Temporary » » » • Covering long-term leave for a Whakatane client base • Work with children and their families • Full flexibility, could be part-time or full-time This position is with Family Works, who are part of Presbyterian Support Northern. Due to the current Counsellor departing on unplanned extended leave we require an practiced Counsellor to step in. We envisage Information technology will be for 2-4 months, but this may be longer. Family Works operates in 122 school across the upper North Island with a range of specialist services to support our communities health and wellbeing. This position is working predominately with children aged 0-17 and their families wo are experiencing significant challenges that impact adversely on the children, and to work with them towards achieving positive and lasting differences in their lives. You’ll be part of a team of Social Workers and Counsellors using their expertise within a strength located multi-systemic approach supporting these families. You will step into a caseload of families and may also be required to facilitate separate programmes as well. We are seeking for an practiced Counsellor who is willing to offer their time supporting this local community. You’ll be open to and understand the cultural uniqueness of the Bay of Plenty region with a good expertise of tikanga Maori. Good computer expertise, compliance with processes and procedures, and the capability to work in a team are all the expertise that will make you good at this job.
