Job Offer: Calf Rearer:Job description:Calf RearerPayment: Paid Position ($21)Job location: Ashburton Region: Christchurch & Canterbury practice: No practice Necessary Listing Added: 26/03/2021 We have a position of ‘Calf Rearer’ available beginning early August through to November 2021. We have a small farm where we rear approx. 1300 calves (from 4days old until they reach 100kg in Nov/Dec). The prosperous applicant will be responsible for » making milk (from powder) » feeding milk and meal » animal health » cleaning pens & feeders » general farm tasks. I will be around helping you (although sometimes you may be working on your own!) but I am also kept busy with two young children and my husband works full time on our family farm 10km away. Some farming practice would be nice but a passion for animals is more important as you can lgain on the job as full training will be given. The position will be full time for most of it, although Information technology may be a bit quieter at the beginning and again at the end. Ideally most weeks we would like you to work 5-6 days, 7-8 hours per day, but this can be flexible. You will need to be physically fit, caring, very realiable, have a readiness to lgain and great communication expertise. We live 5 minutes from Ashburton, and can provide accommodation in our home for the right person if needed.
