Universities New Zealand - Te P?kai Tara (UNZ) is the peak body of the eight New Zealand universities. Information technology advances university education and research activities and promotes the common interests of the New Zealand universities through coordinated action across the sector. Information technology is a statutory body with responsibilities for the quality assurance of university academic programmes, university entrance and scholarships.
?Piki Ake? is a programme aimed at redesigning the trajectory for M?ori researchers at New Zealand universities. Information technology will broaden and strengthen the opportunities and pathways for M?ori researchers, while at the same time maintain a focus on excellence and quality. The programme is underpinned by a strong commitment to key Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
this function is located in Wellington. The New Zealand Universities will work collaboratively through the Manu Taki – National Coordinator through a network of Manu Taupua – Regional Connectors, embedded in each university.
The function will
   » Lead, coordinate, review, monitor and ensure the delivery of the Piki Ake Programme alongside the regional Pike Ake Manu Taupua – Regional Connectors;
   » Work alongside senior leadership abilities members from across the eight universities;
   » Coordinate with key subject matter experts the development of the Piki Ake modules;
   » Develop new processes and internal systems for the prosperous delivery of the Piki Ake programme.
In addition, you will have the following:
   » A postgraduate university qualification (Honours or masters level degree);
   » Knowledge and competence in Te Ao M?ori (competency in Te Reo M?ori is advantageous);
   » An knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi on today's society and a commitment to operating in a partnership across the universities;
   » Demonstrated practice with leading the creation, development, and implementation of a strategic work programme;
   » Demonstrated in-depth practice in relation to research and providing input to papers through research on specific matters;
   » Excellent relationship management expertise and prosperous practice in dealing with diverse stakeholders;
   » Excellent interpersonal expertise including written and oral communication expertise.
This is a fixed term function (18 months), working 37.5 hours per week. Opportunity for secondment will also be considered.
