The PSA Te P?kenga Here Tikanga Mahi is the largest union in New Zealand and is an innovative and dynamic organisation employing over 180 staff all over New Zealand. We are a membership-located organisation with a bicultural structure. Te R?nanga o Nga Toa ?whina is the M?ori arm of the PSA membership. We have more than 80,000 members working in central and local government, health and community services. The focus of the PSA is to advance the interests of members through building collectivity in the workplace. The PSA takes a strategic approach to building unionism.

The PSA has a vacancy for a M?ori Policy Advisor Kaitohutohu Kaupapa Here M?ori to join our policy team. This is a permanent position. Location preference is for Wellington, but other locations maybe considered. Flexible working arrangements will be considered.
The primary function of the Kaitohutohu Kaupapa Here M?ori is the development of Public Service Association Te P?kenga Here Tikanga Mahi (PSA) policy and strategy as Information technology pertains to M?ori, to ensure Te Ao M?ori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi (Te Tiriti) and the PSA Ng? Kaupapa principles are integral in the PSA strategic goals and PSA policy. To provide support and advice to, Kaihaut? M?ori, Te Runanga o Ng? Toa Awhina and the leadership abilities team. To prepare submissions and as needed attend meetings with Kaihautu M?ori at a wide variety of internal and external forums to influence the political, economic, social and industrial environment in the interest of our members.
We are seeking for someone who can work well with Kaihautu M?ori, Te R?ngai Kaitakawaenga M?ori, the policy team and wider PSA staff. The PSA welcomes candidates from diverse backgrounds.
The PSA Te P?kenga Here Tikanga Mahi is committed to honouring Te Tiriti O Waitangi across our organisation and the work we do. We are pursuing to strengthen M?ori capcapability within our policy function. expertise of te reo and tikanga M?ori will therefore be an advantage and recognised through income.
The income range for this position is$67,036 to $113,835. New employees enter the range on a starting rate located upon previous significant practice and commensurate with internal relativities. Progression to the top of the scale is by regular and automatic service steps.
The PSA is also an EEO employer.
You are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to work at the PSA.
