Work with a team of strong subject and technical specialists with skills in analogue, digitised and born-digital archival and special collections in diverse formats. » Lead efforts to promote and share the history of Aotearoa New Zealand through the continuing development of the Turnbull collections. » Be part of a holistic system, working collaborating to improve the representation of all New Zealanders, especially those who have been historically underrepresented in the Library's collections. Due to a recent retirement we have a great opportunity for an practiced documentary heritage leader to join the Alexander Turnbull Library's leadership abilities team as Leader, Curatorial Services. In this function you will report to the Associate Chief Librarian, Collections and work collaboratively with staff across the Turnbull Library and the National Library to ensure the smooth operation of curatorial functions, including donor relationships, acquisitions workflows, appraisal, and special projects to improve collections management and access to and use of the Library's collections. The Curatorial Services team is a large team with curatorial responsibility across both the published and unpublished collections of the Turnbull Library. The Curatorial Services Team works in close collaboration with other teams across the Library, particularly Arrangement & Description, Digital Collections, Collection Care, Research Services and Outreach To be prosperous in the function you will have: » The talent to communicate effectively with wide-ranging audiences and communities. » Demonstrated knowledge of and engagement with archival theories and principles, especially strong appraisal, accessioning, as well as arrangement and description practice. You will also have the knowledge and capability to communicate and lead in this area. » practice working with documentary heritage collections in a Library, Archives or similar organisation and demonstrated knowledge of the need for responsible stewardship of collections, balancing collection building with the Library's capacity to facilitate access to collections. » practice working with donors and an capability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with donors and dealers, the wider business, and documentary heritage sector colleagues » The capability to build, lead and manage a team that works together creatively, collaboratively, and effectively, promoting a culture of equity and inclusiveness within the Library and across the Department The Alexander Turnbull Library is part of the National Library of New Zealand and sits within the Information and Knowledge Services branch, the Department's epicentre of information management, culture and heritage.K?kiri, k?kiri, k?kiri!
