We grow a broad base of produce for our main shop located in Bay View, Napier and weekend Farmers markets in Napier and Hastings. The main shop in Bay View is a well-known destination store for quality fresh summer produce, real fruit ice cream, juice bar and preserves. Taste of Summer is currently seeking to recruit a retail sales adjunct/2IC to assist in the shop and occasionally weekend farmers markets. We are pursuing, part timer for up to 30 hours per week. The job will entail • Serving direct to the customer • End of day transaction reconcile • Preparing stock for the main shop and outside farmers markets • Helping the day to day running of the shop/retail operations • Often lifting articles of up to 20kg • Some outside harvest work • Being part of a rostered rotation for weekend work (both Saturdays and Sundays) A full driver’s license for a manual drive vehicle would be an advantage. This job requires flexibility and a commitment to hours and days. We are seeking for someone who is a team player, someone who is motivated and can cope under pressure when there are deadlines to meet. This is the perfect job for Somebody with a passion for horticulture/sales and someone who would like to be part of a team providing high quality, fresh produce to the public. You will meet people from around the world, as during our peak season, backpackers are employed to harvest and work in our retail sections of the business. Due to the nature of the job there will be many occasions to lgain about the production of fruit from planting to harvesting, as well as knowledge and learning the expertise to sell a quality product to the customer. All candidates must be honest, and have an aptitude to lgain and work hard as part a team to achieve the best results. Training will be given in all aspects of the job.
