Job Opportunity: Kiwifruit Orchard Work:Job description:Kiwifruit Orchard WorkPayment: Paid Position ($22.50 )Job location: Te puke, welcome bay, Tauranga Region: Rotorua & Bay of Plenty practice: No practice Necessary Listing Added: 24/08/2022 Organic Kiwifruit Orchard Work We have a job opportunity for you in the Bay of Plenty from the end of September with continuous work for the summer. No previous practice required; training provided. Pay rate of $22.50 per hour plus 8% holiday pay. This is on our family orchard, and you will be working directly with the orchard owner and the orchard manager. » End of September – kiwifruit thinning (removing excess flower buds on an organic Sungold orchard) » November: » Pollinating - hand spraying flowers with a mix of water and pollen. The pollen is from male flowers and sprayed on to female flowers to increase fruit size. The spray is all food grade non-toxic. » Male Flower Picking - the pay is piece rate (the more you pick the more you earn). We will ensure that you will always be making above minimum wage and last year many of our people were earning $25 per hour and some people $30. This work is on various orchards in Welcome Bay and Tauranga. » Pollen Milling - processing male flowers to extract the pollen. 3. December, January, February - thinning and vine pruning You will be given an employment contract on the first day and you will be paid weekly into your bank account. Normal work hours will be 7:30am-5pm on fine days (or 9am-3pm if preferred). We avoid working in the rain. We will have at least one day off each week; if Information technology rains that will be the day off. Requirements: » Valid work permit » Above 160cm tall (need to reach height of vines 170cm – 180cm from the ground) Own accommodation and transport preferred.
