About our group and team SE&S – Sector Enablement and Support Our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, skills and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential. We also directly provide Learning Support for around 40,000 children and young people. The Ministry of Education’s Te Kahu T??, Intensive Wraparound Service provides support to families and schools to help a small number of children and young people who have behaviour, social and/or learning needs that are highly complex and challenging (and may have connected intellectual difficulty), require support at school, at home and in the community and for whom all local services/supports have been fully utilised and are unable to meet their needs. The Te Kahu T??, Intensive Wraparound Service will coordinate and develop an individualised plan that suppo rts the student within the local school setting while working directly with families/wh?nau and the students at home and within the community settings, working collaboratively with education, health, welfare and other social service and community agencies. About this function The Senior Advisor, Te Kahu T??, Intensive Wraparound Service will be responsible for monitoring, analysing and reporting the provision and delivery of services in conformity with the goals, objectives and policies of the Ministry and the principles of the Te Kahu T??, Intensive Wraparound Service. The Senior Advisor will maintain an open, responsive and inquiry-focused relationship with key stakeholders, as well as ensure service advice and communication is accurate, accessible and informative. The function includes developing and reporting on indicators of performance, analysing and monitoring trends and contributing to evaluation work. About you To be prosperous in the function, you’ll be working collaboratively with Te Kahu T?? teams, the wider Ministry and key external stakeholders to provide timely advice and support. You’ll be communicating your ideas through quality written advice. We’ll also count on you to shape, frame and improve our data collection, data analysis and reporting functions. You will also offer the following: » Skills in using statistical and demographic analysis and qualitative and quantitative data research to inform and evaluate operational policy design » Previous practice at a senior level in education, special education, health or welfare sectors » Previous practice in supporting evaluations » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga You’ll be joining a small, high-performing national office team with a culture of constructive open-minded debate and working together to make an impact.
