Working between policy and customer facing functions, there is a significant political, stakeholder and public interest in the high performance of this group and the education curriculum and teaching workforce results we seek for New Zealand. The function of the Pathways and Progress group is to set the direction for what students learn, how they progress and how school leaders and teachers can achieve that for every child and student across school years 1 to 13. The group uses evidence and educational trends to design targeted solutions, resources, tools and services that lift educational achievement for all. The group co-designs and co-develops innovative approaches to achieve policy intentions, plans prosperous implementation strategies and monitors to ensure a return on investment. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and perspectives who will enrich our focus on learners and the education workforce. About the function Thie Lead Adviser function will lead the development of substantial and/or complex Pacific focused initiatives to support workforce development and student achievement. The function will lead the design and development of innovative and responsive initiatives to enable every teacher and leader to become culturally competent with diverse Pacific learners. About you We are seeking for Somebody with strong knowledge of Pacific communities and issues who is able to work at pace, engage, and deliver. We need someone who can manage set tasks and projects, but will also notice opportunities, take the initiative, and act. Someone who is a conceptual thinker with deep knowledge of professional learning and development, who has great analytical expertise alongside the capability to communicate and engage with Pacific communities, regional staff, schools and kura. You will have the following: » Have the interpersonal savviness to relate well with all kinds of people » Have the background practice and expertise that contribute to the team providing high quality services to Pacific communities, the sector, and the ministry » Understand the New Zealand Curriculum, Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and Te Whariki » Want to bring your expertise to a compensateing function within an organisation that’s continuously reaching goals and striving for a better future for Aotearoa New Zealand Are you ready to make a difference?
